Detoxes on the whole bodies were known even in historic times. Even Hippocrates was pro this.
A lot of such diets nowadays help with this, but shortly. And also they make you starve almost, so the metabolism is slowed down and you get no nutrients.
Other side effects are fatigue, dehydration, nausea, fatigue, colon damage and dizziness.
Our body has its own natural ways to detox. The colon, kidneys and liver are the main organs.
The liver- first primary detox organ. It is like a filter and stops toxins to remain inside the blood.
The colon- it has bacteria that is healthy and useful, but also dangerous one. It removes bad bacteria out of the body.
The kidneys- they filter all that we eat and drink and remove toxins by help of the urine.
To make the detox work, eat healthy.
Dr. Oz advises to do a 48 hour cleanse weekend. You have to eat some foods that promote this detox. Make these 2 days ahead.
Quinoa and prunes for breakfast
Quinoa is a whole grain with many proteins, fibers and phosphorus. Add prunes that also have fibers and sorbitol. This last one is like laxative. You need: ½ cup quinoa, 1 cup water, 1 pinch nutmeg, 1 tsp grated ginger, 1 tbsp flaxseed oil, 1/3 cup chopped prunes, ¼ cup rice milk. In a pot put the water and the ½ quinoa, nutmeg and ginger. Mix and let it boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer. Add the milk and prunes. Cook some more. Before eating, add the flaxseed.
Detoxing drinks in between meals
Kale, ginger and pineapple are great for this. The kale is for the kidneys, the pineapple for the bromelain and digestion and the ginger makes bile flow better. You need: ½ cup pineapple, 2 cucumbers, 1 bunch kale, ½ lemon juice, ¼ inch ginger, ½ cup mint. Put in blender juicer and mix.
This next one is with lemon, pomegranate and pineapple. You need ¾ cup natural pineapple juice, 1 lemon, 3 cups water, 1 cup natural pomegranate juice. Mix all together. This is for 4 servings for the whole day.
Veggie snack- get chopped radishes, cucumber, celery or other produce and mix. Put lemon juice, olive oil, pepper and salt. Eat as much as you like.
Fruit smoothie as lunch
You need: ½ cup plain almond milk, 1 tbsp flaxseed oil, ¼ cup frozen blueberries, ¼ banana, ½ cup ice. Mix and blend. The blueberries have quercetin which is a flavonoid and improves liver health and immunity. The bananas have B6 for liver detox, the flaxseed has omega 3 healthy fats for the brain and fibers too.
Vegie broth for dinner
You need: 2 onions chopped, 2 celery stalks chopped, 1 fennel bulb chopped, 2 tsp caraway seed, 2 tsp sea salt, pepper, 1 cup sliced shitake mushrooms, 4 garlic cloves chopped, 1 cabbage chopped, 2 quarts water, 2 tbsp paprika, 2 tbsp chopped oregano, 8 sprigs parsley, ½ cup parsley chopped. Mix everything except the parsley in 1 pot. Let it boil with the water. Then let simmer and add the parsley. The fennel makes more bile in the gallbladder, the garlic aid the liver. The apples help the liver and kidney work.
